Usernames as part of subdomain
As more and more people use Apigee, it will become harder and harder to find memorable proxy names. It might make more sense if we were restricted to subdomains on top of our existing usernames. So...
If I use SOMEUSERNAME to log into Apigee, then my subdomains might be:
• twitter.SOMEUSERNAME.apigee.com
• flickr.SOMEUSERNAME.apigee.com
This would mean many fewer collisions in the future, not to mention make it less likely for someone to accidentally use the wrong proxy. It also "makes it mine", as logically it is like having my own slice of the Flickr/Twitter/etc. APIs.

Inappropriate?Marsh, great suggestion.
We'll post some design work on this feature here soon to get your take on it.
Your suggestion is aligned with our proposal except for a small variation: Apigee will eventually support multiple users per account. As a first step we are planning to introduce account names in the next iteration. Our proposal is to put the account name in the URL so that a typical Apigee account, called ourcompany, might have bob, jane and fred as users and *.ourcompany.apigee.com would be the account namespace for proxies.
I’m thankful
